How do I get my curly hair back?

I dyed my naturally curly hair red a month ago and had it blow dried straight. Since then my hair has not been curly. It is wavy and frizzy. Underneath my hair is very curly but the top layers are dry wavy and the ends are straight. I've dyed my hair before lots of times but this is the first time my hair has lost it's curl. How do I get my curl back? And can I dye it red again? THANKS!

It's probably because your hair is damaged, and you're just going to have to let it grow back out. Use a good shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, like Redken Fresh Curls. Did you dye it yourself? If you did, next time I would go to a salon so they can find a color that's more gentle. You may want to consider using a semi-permanent hair color. I don't think the red has anything to do with it, so once your hair is back in good shape you should be able to keep coloring it!

u screwed up with smth - eitherdying them or blow drying. and once hair is dead it is dead. as u described your top layer of hair is dead. there re some masks like mosturising or reviwing masks in hair dressing salons. but honestly speaking i tried them almost all -no effect. maybe i did smth wrong thou. so u have 2 options - cut them or just let them be for a while as they re. they will grow again and they will be curly. u can die them again, why not. just maybe don't use that particular brand u used which killed your hair

i think your hair is damaged from constantly coloring it. dying it a different color wont help. you need to buy a special shampoo for curly hair...I think Pantene make it

Hair color is a chemical and it can straighten your hair a little bit. When you colored your hair it relaxed that curl and when you blow dryed and flat ironed it straighted more. Your hair is not damaged. I did the same thing to mine one time. I colored it with a semi, blow dryed and flat iron and in some places my hair stayed straight for about a month or two. Dont use any more heat (flat iron or blow dryer) and find a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner for curly hair or a revitalizing shampoo and cond.

As for styling products, Fructis has a fabulous line to give you great curls. First shampoo and condition with Fructis Curl %26amp; Shine. Since you've got dry hair or split ends, I also reccommend using Fructis 3 minute conditioning treatment as well. Towel dry and gently comb/pick through hair. Work in Fructis Curl %26amp; Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream. Comb again. Then use a small amount of Fructis Soft Curls (its this waxy cream in a round tub). Rub into hands and work into hair. Flip over your head and scrunch it up with a towel. Flip back over and blow dry on low or cool while scrunching small sections. Dry it partly and let rest air dry naturally. Finish with a couple spritzes of Fructis Curl %26amp; Shine hairspray. Voila!!!

All the Fructis products are about $2-$5 at any supermarket/drugstore/etc. And they leave your hair in impecible condition because they use so little alcohol in their products.

You can dye it again, but I would wait for at least 2 months after the first dye-job. Keep your hair in good condition using a hot oil treatment about once a week. When you plan to dye it, don't wash it for 24-48 hours prior to coloring. Mix 1 part conditoner and 2 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray on hair before coloring to create an extra protective layer of moisture on the hair shaft. Then do a hot oil treatment within the next day or so after coloring.

Good luck!!!
