i told my mom i wanted 2 dye my hair and she said no and started a argument about how I MIGHT LOSE ALL MY HAIR IF I DYE IT. my mom is really old and bac then if u dye ur hair at age 14 (im a 14yr old girl) ur hair might fall out. and i was just wondering is that true? and my hair is not really sensitive or anything.so can i dye my hair without any of my hair falling out?

If you are worried about the damaging effects of hair dye, use a semi permanent color. This semi-permanent stuff works great if you want to add some red or go darker.

I started when I was 10 and now I am 15 its just damaging thats all but you still will have your hair.. use good products.. extensions can make you lose hair like how I did.. but coloring won't... maybe only if you color it every day.. but once I had to get mine colored 4 times in one day at a salon... and my hair is fine.. damaged but still there

If you do it properly, there's not to much damage to your hair. But the tiniest mistake can utterly destroy your hair. My sister left bleach in her shoulder-length hair just a few minutes to long (15-20) and the next day her hair was 2 inches long. It's risky, but get a professional with a lot of skill to do it, and be smart about what you're doing!

i've been dying my hair for over ten years and it has never fallen out. i keep it short though. since i get it cut often all of the damaged parts are gone pretty quickly. if i had longer hair i would go to a stylist to get it done. try having a stylist talk to your mom and explain the process. maybe if it comes form a pro she'll believe that your hair won't fall out.

Well, last time I checked all my friends hair is there and she changes her hair from purple to pink to blue to rainbow about once a week. But I am not in any way telling you to go against your Mom. If you really want to dye you hair, research it. Parents are much more willing to listen to you when you come to them with more of an arguement than "But I want to!" and "You are so mean, you never let me do anything!" If you can show her that dyeing your hair is much safer now, she will first off realize that she might be wrong, and second, she will take you more seriously because you went above and beyond and took responsibility. So, if you want to dye your hair pink, take my word for it, it won't all be gone the morning after.
