If you're starting with wet hair, apply mousse before you blow dry to give it an extra styling aid during curling. Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the iron.

You might need to change the size of your curling iron. If you hair is very long, you'll need to get a larger barrel.

Another method for getting the curls is to do pin curls. Start with damp hair, apply mousse. Take a small section of hair and wrap it around your finger. Slide it off, and pin it with a bobby pin flat against your scalp. Do this around the rest of your head. You can sleep on this over night if its not too uncomfortable.

In the morning, remove the pins and finger comb your hair a bit. Add a couple sprays of hairspray to hold the shape.

well, I used to use mouse or gel, but there is this styling milk now that Pantene came out will that i like, I also spray with a wax spray to hold in a tossed look. But hairspray just doesn't work for me, or else it looks like i glued my hair with it. Unfortunately all different hair types require different products. Look for a sculpting product, instead of just a hold. There are new things coming out all the time, like curl inhancing products, have you tried any of those?

Any and all of the 'got to be curly' hair products are the best. The oil keeps my culrs intact all day. Plus the products aren't too costly!!
